First Robotics Competition

Geekspace Gwinnett is starting a F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Competition team to compete in the ultimate sport of the mind. The team will be located in Suwanee but we are looking for students throughout the Gwinnett area (and beyond) to join our team.

Every year during an intense six-week build season students must develop inventive solutions to a new challenge. Together they will bring their ideas to life. They will work as a team and follow engineering best practices as well as design, prototype, CAD, program, CNC, build, and wire their robots. When they launch their robots into competition they will be competing against teams from all over Georgia and maybe the world. This robotics competition is not just about engineering. There will be opportunities related to business, video production, design, graphic arts, project management, strategy, and much more. At the end of the day we hope our students call it “the hardest fun they’ve ever had.”
